Bedrock & Console Connection Guide
How to join TulipSMP using Minecraft Bedrock Edition on PC, Mobile, Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch.

TulipSMP fully supports crossplay, meaning you can play with your friends whether they are on Java Edition or Bedrock Edition!
Because console manufacturers lock down the ability to join custom servers, the process is slightly different depending on what device you are using to play Minecraft.
📱 PC and Mobile (iOS / Android)
Joining on a PC (Windows 10/11 Edition) or Mobile device is extremely easy. You just need to add us to your server list!
- Open Minecraft and click Play.
- Go to the Servers tab and scroll all the way to the bottom.
- Click Add Server.
- Enter the following information:
- Server Name: TulipSMP
- Server Address:
mc.tulipsmp.com - Port:
19132(This is the default Bedrock port)
- Click Save and then click the server to join!
🎮 Consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch)
WARNING
Console versions of Minecraft do not have an “Add Server” button. To join custom servers like TulipSMP, we have to use a community workaround. There are two ways to do this:
Method 1: Change DNS Settings (Recommended)
This method works by tricking your console. We change your console’s DNS settings so that when you try to join one of the official “Featured Servers” (like The Hive or Mineville), it will intercept the connection and open a custom server menu instead, allowing you to type in our IP!
Step 1: Change your DNS Settings You need to change your console’s network settings to use a BedrockConnect DNS server. The exact steps vary slightly by console:
- Xbox: Settings -> General -> Network Settings -> Advanced Settings -> DNS Settings -> Manual.
- PlayStation: Settings -> Network -> Settings -> Set Up Internet Connection -> (Select your WiFi/LAN) -> Advanced Settings -> DNS Settings -> Manual.
- Switch: System Settings -> Internet -> Internet Settings -> (Select your Network) -> Change Settings -> DNS Settings -> Manual.

For the lowest latency, always choose the DNS server located geographically closest to you.
(Leave your Secondary DNS as 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1)
Step 2: Join a Featured Server
- Restart Minecraft and click Play.
- Go to the Servers tab.
- Click on ANY of the Featured Servers (e.g., The Hive, Pixelmon).
- Instead of joining that server, a custom “Server List” menu will pop up!
- Click Connect to a Server and enter our information:

Need help or are the DNS servers offline? The BedrockConnect DNS servers are hosted by community volunteers and occasionally change IPs. If the ones listed above are not working, check the official Pugmatt BedrockConnect GitHub for the most up-to-date list of active DNS servers!
Method 2: The BedrockTogether App (Alternative)
If you cannot change your DNS settings (or if the servers above are offline), you can use a free smartphone app called BedrockTogether to trick your console into thinking TulipSMP is a local LAN game inside your own house!
- Download the BedrockTogether app on your mobile phone (iOS App Store or Google Play Store).
- Make sure your phone and your console are connected to the exact same WiFi network.
- Open the app and type in our server details:

- Click Run (you may have to watch a short ad to start the server).
- Leave the app running on your phone, then go to your console and open Minecraft.
- Navigate to the Friends tab and scroll to the bottom.
- Under LAN Games, you will magically see the BedrockTogether server! Click it to join TulipSMP!
